With over two decades of experience in guiding individuals through life's challenges, Carol Kasha-Ciallella, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, brings a wealth of expertise to her therapeutic practice. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory designation and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with Clinical Supervisory designation, Carol's approach is rooted in understanding and supporting her clients' personal goals.
Carol's counseling philosophy centers on the belief that the therapeutic alliance between clinician and client is key to successful outcomes. She emphasizes the importance of being a good fit for her clients, recognizing that this foundation allows for addressing a wide variety of issues effectively. Her areas of particular compassion and expertise include anxiety, depression, substance use, stress management, and self-esteem concerns.
With a diverse educational background, Carol's expertise is well-grounded in both theory and practice. She holds a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University, an AAS in Mental Health and Chemical Dependency from Columbus State Community College, and an MS Ed in Counselor Education from The University of Dayton. Additionally, Carol is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), expanding her toolkit for addressing trauma and other complex issues.
Carol's professional journey spans various settings, with the majority of her career spent in outpatient community behavioral health. She has also dedicated nearly a decade to private practice, honing her skills and approach to best serve her clients. This breadth of experience allows her to bring a comprehensive understanding of mental health and substance use issues to her work at Blue Boat Counseling.
In her practice, Carol utilizes a trauma-informed lens and incorporates various therapeutic modalities including narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness techniques, and intergenerational family therapy. This integrative approach allows her to tailor her methods to each client's unique needs and circumstances.
