Catherine Varvel

Catherine Varvel, MA, LPC Associate, works with adolescents, teens, and adults using a person-centered, strengths-based therapy framework. She integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused, and Solution-Focused strategies to tailor treatment to each client’s needs.

She brings experience from college counseling, disability services, and community mental health and applies a neurodiversity-affirming lens with a particular passion for young adults, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and neurodivergent people. This background informs her collaborative, respectful work with clients.

Catherine’s areas include trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, religious deconstruction, emerging adulthood, life transitions, family-of-origin challenges, self-esteem, identity development, disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and LGBTQ+ issues. She offers faith-based counseling for those who desire it while welcoming clients from all backgrounds, aiming to create a safe, trauma-informed space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.
