Dana Lipsky

Dana Lipsky, Psy.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and the Owner and Clinical Director of Metropolitan Psychological Services. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC and holds master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology. She is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Virginia and Washington, D.C., and is a member of Psypact.

Dr. Lipsky uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), strengths-based, solution-focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness in her work, and has completed advanced training in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

With 15 years of diverse clinical experience in community mental health centers, private practices, psychiatric hospitals, schools, university counseling centers, and military care facilities, she provides consultation focused on empowering mental health professionals. Her consultation is preventative, proactive, and enriching; she tailors sessions to simplify difficult cases, help clinicians overcome barriers with resistant clients, and develop greater confidence to enhance quality of care and client retention.
