Daniela Sliwkowski

With a passion for creating safe spaces and providing individualized care, Daniela Sliwkowski, MS, LMHC, brings a wealth of experience to her role as a licensed mental health counselor at the Miami Counseling & Resource Center. Her integrative approach combines evidence-based treatments with person-centered techniques, offering clients the tools they need to heal and live fulfilling lives.

Daniela's journey in the mental health field began with her education, earning an MS in Professional Counseling Psychology from Florida International University and a BA in Art Therapy from Emmanuel College. This unique educational background allows her to incorporate both traditional and expressive therapies into her practice, enhancing the reach and effectiveness of her treatments.

Since 2012, Daniela has been providing comprehensive and effective treatments for complex struggles across various clinical settings. Her expertise spans individual, family, couples, and group therapy at inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care. Notably, she spent six years specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and associated challenges, demonstrating her commitment to addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.

Daniela's therapeutic toolkit includes highly effective therapies such as DBT, CBT, and ACT, which she skillfully combines with experiential and expressive therapies. This integrative approach allows her to tailor treatment plans to each client's unique needs, fostering a deeper connection and more impactful healing process.

Before joining the Miami Counseling & Resource Center in 2022, Daniela served as an assistant clinical director and clinical supervisor at a nationally recognized treatment center focused on adolescent and adult women. This experience not only honed her clinical skills but also developed her leadership abilities in the mental health field. Daniela continues to contribute to the profession as a qualified supervisor for registered interns and as secretary of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IADEP) Miami Chapter, showcasing her commitment to mentorship and professional development within the community.

At the core of Daniela's practice is her dedication to building rapport, trust, and confidence with her clients. She understands that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for effective treatment, and she strives to create an environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to engage in their healing journey.
