Elaine Dowell

Elaine Dowell is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults navigating complex emotional experiences, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and shame. Dowell helps clients develop more meaningful relationships with themselves and others through a safe therapeutic environment.

Dowell holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Virginia. Her background includes working in an inpatient setting, providing care and stabilization for people in acute crisis, which enhances her ability to support clients facing severe challenges.

Using interpersonal and attachment-based therapies, Dowell facilitates exploration of wounded places with curiosity. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma reprocessing. Clients can expect a compassionate approach that encourages personal growth and healing.
