Emily Doll
MACC, LPC • Licensed Professional Counselor
About
With a compassionate approach that emphasizes personal resilience and hope, Emily Doll, MACC, LPC, offers a unique therapeutic experience rooted in narrative therapy. Her person-centered, non-directive style creates a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely, facilitating psychological healing and personal growth.
Emily's diverse background enriches her practice, bringing a wealth of life experience to her role as a therapist. Originally from Indiana, she has called the Upstate home for many years. Her varied work history, including roles in television news, at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, and as a history guide at Drayton Hall in Charleston, provides her with a broad perspective that informs her therapeutic approach.
In her practice, Emily primarily serves adults grappling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship conflicts. She has a particular interest in working with clients managing medical illnesses, offering presentations on preventing and reducing anxiety and depression in connection with chronic illness to medical support groups and churches. While Emily approaches counseling from a Christian worldview, she prioritizes and respects the beliefs, values, and experiences of each individual client.
Emily's therapeutic toolkit includes Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. As a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, she is well-equipped to support clients through loss and bereavement. Her telehealth certification also allows her to provide flexible, accessible care to her clients.
With over 25 years of marriage and experience as a parent, Emily brings personal insight to her work with clients navigating family dynamics and life transitions. Her love for history, particularly English history, and her enjoyment of travel, dining out, and serving her church as an elder, all contribute to a well-rounded perspective that enriches her therapeutic practice. As Emily looks forward to a new chapter as an empty nester, she continues to bring warmth, understanding, and professional expertise to her role as a therapist, helping clients write new, hopeful narratives in their own lives.
