With a passion for working with adolescents and their families, Erik brings extensive experience and a multifaceted approach to therapy that addresses a wide range of emotional, mental, social, and behavioral challenges.
Erik's therapeutic toolbox is well-stocked with evidence-based methodologies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness practices. His expertise extends to Trauma Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), allowing him to tailor his approach to each client's unique needs. As a member of the IOCD Foundation and a co-presenter at the International OCD Foundation Annual Conference, Erik stays at the forefront of advancements in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Erik's clinical experience has emphasized treating a diverse array of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, addiction (including compulsive sexual behavior), personality disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, attachment disorders, and relational problems. His approach to therapy is inclusive, welcoming individuals of all races, beliefs, orientations, and identities.
With a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and Linguistics from Brigham Young University, Erik brings a unique blend of communication skills and cultural understanding to his practice. He believes in the power of strengthening family bonds and works collaboratively with parents to build resilience and confidence in teens facing life's challenges.
Erik's dedication to his clients' well-being extends beyond the therapy room. When he's not helping others navigate their personal growth, he can be found embracing life's adventures through rock climbing, engaging in thoughtful games of chess, or exploring new horizons with his wife and children. His love for both introspective activities and family adventures mirrors his balanced approach to therapy, encouraging clients to find harmony between self-reflection and active engagement with the world around them.
