Fernando Alaniz

Fernando Alaniz, LMHCA, is a Mental Health Counselor with a background in the United States Marine Corps. He uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, strengths-based therapy, and narrative therapy to tailor care to each client's needs.

He earned a BA from Washington State University and an MA from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Saybrook University under the supervision of Dr. N.K. Marks, Ph.D. His experience centers on crisis response and includes outpatient therapy, school district mental health work, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, and inpatient case management with Comprehensive Healthcare.

He has a clinical interest in human sexuality and draws on varied settings to provide individualized support. He lives with his husband and dogs, Flash and Freckles.
