Jessica Plate
LCSW • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About
Jessica Plate, LCSW, brings a unique blend of traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and holistic mindfulness practices to her work with adults struggling with anxiety and depression. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jessica's approach is grounded in evidence-based CBT techniques, but she sets herself apart by incorporating the healing power of yoga and mindfulness into her therapeutic practice.
Jessica's journey as a therapist began in an outpatient mental health center for adults, where she honed her skills running weekly cognitive behavioral therapy groups. Her experience there, working with individuals recovering from addiction and addressing women's issues, laid a strong foundation for her current practice. This early work also ignited her passion for helping adults improve their overall wellness through targeted therapeutic interventions.
In 2017, Jessica's commitment to holistic healing led her to pursue certification as a yoga instructor. This additional training has allowed her to seamlessly integrate mindfulness techniques and body awareness into her CBT practice. Jessica's clients benefit from her unique ability to address both the cognitive and somatic aspects of anxiety and depression, often learning to lean into discomfort as a path to growth and healing.
Prior to joining Let's Talk! Counseling and Services in early 2020, Jessica further expanded her expertise working in community mental health with adults facing severe and persistent mental illnesses. This experience enhanced her ability to handle complex cases and adapt her therapeutic approach to meet diverse client needs. Jessica's calm demeanor and well-rounded skill set have made her an invaluable asset to both her clients and her colleagues, particularly during the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jessica Plate's therapeutic style combines professional expertise with a compassionate, holistic approach. She empowers her clients to prioritize self-care and develop strong boundary-setting skills, recognizing these as crucial elements for maintaining mental health and fulfilling relationships. Her belief in the power of self-compassion and her ability to guide clients towards recognizing their own worth are cornerstones of her practice. With Jessica, clients can expect a supportive environment where they can work through anxiety and depression while developing practical skills for long-term emotional well-being.
