With a compassionate, direct, and solution-oriented approach, Dr. Joshua Kline creates a safe, judgment-free space for clients to explore their challenges and work towards personal growth. As a post-doctoral fellow at the Capital Center for Psychotherapy and Wellness, Dr. Kline specializes in providing individual therapy for a wide range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, gender and sexuality issues, identity development, relationship and interpersonal issues, ADHD, life transitions, and stress.
Dr. Kline's therapeutic style is rooted in cognitive-behavioral techniques, balancing immediate symptom relief with deeper insight into the underlying causes of clients' struggles. He values building a strong therapeutic relationship as a channel for understanding and fostering open, honest dialogue. This approach allows him to create a personalized and flexible treatment plan that aligns with each client's unique identity and values.
With a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and young adults transitioning to college and into the workforce, Dr. Kline brings a wealth of experience to his practice. He completed both a master's degree and doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington, DC campus. His doctoral thesis focused on the experiences of young adults with ADHD, exploring the intersections of self-esteem and job satisfaction.
Dr. Kline's professional journey includes an APA-approved internship at Springfield Hospital Center, further honing his clinical skills and preparing him for the diverse needs of his clients. As he works toward full licensure under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Kline continues to deepen his expertise and refine his therapeutic approach.
