About
Life can be a landmine, but Julia Heberling, LMHCA, is here to help you navigate it safely. As a compassionate and experienced mental health counselor, Julia understands that sometimes we all need a trustworthy person to walk alongside us through life's challenges. Her practice is built on the foundational belief that healing happens in relationships, making her a dedicated ally in her clients' journeys toward health and healing.
Julia's expertise spans a wide range of areas, making her well-equipped to address the diverse needs of her clients. She specializes in working with adolescents (ages 12-18) and adults, tackling issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, substance addiction, and spiritual concerns. Her practice also extends to more complex areas like self-harm, suicidal ideation, shame, and betrayal trauma. Additionally, Julia offers support for those grappling with stress management, career counseling, boundary setting, and co-dependency.
With a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, Julia brings a solid educational foundation to her practice. Her license as a Mental Health Counselor Associate (Lic.# MC61341474) in Washington state is supervised by Deborah Rue (#LF60099920), ensuring ongoing professional development and accountability.
Julia's rich background in working with at-risk populations significantly informs her practice. For eight years, she dedicated herself to helping at-risk and homeless youth and adults across Kitsap County at The Coffee Oasis, assisting them in regaining stability and a sense of self-worth. Her experience extends to the educational sector, where she spent five years working with at-risk middle and high school students in the Bremerton and Bellevue school districts through the AVID program. Julia's time at Kitsap Mental Health Services in the Youth Inpatient Unit, providing therapeutic groups and de-escalation support for youth aged 7 to 17, further honed her skills in crisis intervention and group therapy.
Recognizing that seeking support takes courage, Julia offers a safe, empathetic environment where clients can explore their challenges and work towards positive change. She is now accepting new clients, with flexible office hours on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12 pm to 6 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm. Julia provides free 20-minute consultations to ensure a good fit, demonstrating her commitment to building strong therapeutic relationships.
When she's not in her counseling office, Julia embraces a full life, enjoying activities such as hiking, camping, reading, painting, gardening, and spending quality time with loved ones. This balance in her personal life infuses her practice with a holistic understanding of well-being, allowing her to connect with clients on multiple levels.
Julia Heberling's approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that consistent, safe, and empathetic relationships have transformative power. Whether you're dealing with family issues, relationship conflicts, or personal struggles, Julia is ready to provide the support and tools you need to face life's challenges head-on.
