With over 13 years of experience in the field of mental health, Kate Burnett, LCSW, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as the founder of Hillcrest Therapy Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Specializing in a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, and relationship dynamics, Kate's approach is deeply rooted in her extensive background working with survivors of domestic violence and her commitment to helping individuals navigate life's challenges.

Kate's journey in mental health began at Hendrix College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Furthering her education, she obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Saint Louis University, laying the foundation for her diverse and impactful career. Her time in Saint Louis was marked by significant work with survivors of domestic violence, where she honed her skills in individual counseling, court advocacy, and crisis intervention. This experience has profoundly shaped her approach to therapy, particularly in addressing issues related to intimate partner violence and family conflicts.

After a brief stint in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she worked in community mental health, Kate returned to her roots in Little Rock. Here, she expanded her expertise as a full-time therapist at Southwest EAP, working extensively with individuals, couples, and families. This varied experience has equipped her with the tools to address a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, including grief and loss, stress management, and navigating life transitions.

In 2017, Kate took a significant step in her career by founding Hillcrest Therapy Center, where she continues to offer private practice services. Her approach is characterized by a deep understanding of the complexities of human experiences and a commitment to helping clients who feel "stuck" or "lost." Kate's practice also extends to working with LGBTQ/sexuality and gender issues, self-injurious behaviors, and self-discovery and growth work.
