Kathryn Ziemer

Dr. Kathryn Ziemer is the Clinical Director at Old Town Psychology. Ziemer works with people facing depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress management, and sleep issues. She also conducts IQ tests for children seeking admission to gifted programs or private schools.

Ziemer earned her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. Her clinical expertise was honed at the National Institutes of Mental Health, the DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the University of Maryland Counseling Center, and the George Mason Cognitive Assessment Program. Her academic roles include teaching at the University of Maryland and supervising psychologists-in-training.

In therapy, Ziemer uses cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, relational therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Clients can expect a comprehensive and adaptable approach.
