Kathryn Ziemer

Kathryn Ziemer, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director at Old Town Psychology with over a decade of experience in psychological services.

She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, relational therapy, and mindfulness techniques to address depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress management, and sleep issues.

Dr. Ziemer earned her PhD from the University of Maryland and has worked at the National Institutes of Mental Health, the DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the University of Maryland Counseling Center, and the George Mason Cognitive Assessment Program. She conducts IQ tests for children seeking admission to gifted and talented programs or private schools and co-authored a self-guided version of Attachment-Based Compassion Therapy to increase self-compassion and improve relationships.
