About

Guided by the principles of abolition and a deep belief in human dignity, Katie Huber-Rhoades (they/them) offers a unique approach to therapy that centers on the interconnectedness of self, others, and the world around us. As a Pre-Licensed Clinician with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology, Katie brings a holistic, relational-psychodynamic perspective to their practice, focusing on bringing the unconscious into consciousness and considering the individual's mind, body, spirit, and cultural context.

Katie's therapeutic journey is informed by their previous career as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant, where they gained extensive knowledge about sensory processing disorders. This background, combined with their personal experiences, has fueled their passion for healing and wellness. Now transitioning to work with adolescents and adults, Katie specializes in addressing complex issues such as sexual abuse, religious trauma, grief, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and LGBTQIA+ concerns.

In therapy sessions with Katie, clients can expect an empathetic, non-judgmental space where radical honesty and authentic self-exploration are encouraged. Their approach integrates principles of internal family systems, attachment theory, and mindfulness practices. Katie's ultimate goal is to help individuals lead more satisfying, conscious, and authentic lives by creating an environment where every client feels valued, supported, and safe to share their most vulnerable parts.

Katie's training extends beyond their master's degree, encompassing additional certifications in integrating Internal Family Systems across clinical applications, complex trauma treatment, addressing the fallout of narcissistic abuse, and mindfulness techniques. This diverse skill set allows them to tailor their approach to each client's unique needs, fostering a therapeutic relationship that promotes healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.

As a facilitator of the LGBTQIA+ Art Processing Group, Katie demonstrates their commitment to creating supportive communities and exploring identity through creative expression. Their practice embodies a belief in the power of unity and understanding our interconnectedness, offering clients a chance to explore the root causes of their pain while developing healthy coping skills and a deeper awareness of self.
