About
With a passion for working with people of all ages, especially adolescents, Kelly Barta brings a fresh perspective to the field of mental health as she pursues her Masters in Counseling Psychology at William Jessup University. Her enthusiasm for psychology, particularly its integration with the arts, forms the foundation of her therapeutic approach.
Kelly's experience spans a diverse age range, having worked with children from Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade for about three and a half years, as well as engaging with middle and high schoolers. This breadth of experience allows her to adapt her approach to suit the unique needs of each client, regardless of their age or developmental stage.
Understanding that life can be challenging at times, Kelly is committed to being there for her clients, providing a safe space for them to navigate tough times. Her approach is grounded in empathy and a genuine desire to help people through difficult periods in their lives. As she continues her education and training, Kelly is developing a toolbox of therapeutic techniques that blend traditional counseling methods with creative approaches, reflecting her appreciation for the integration of psychology and the arts.
When not immersed in her studies or clinical work, Kelly maintains a vibrant personal life that informs her practice. She can often be found in coffee shops, engaging in artwork or writing, activities that not only bring her joy but also enhance her ability to connect with clients creatively. In a unique twist, Kelly performs as Mickey or Minnie Mouse at children's birthday parties and events, showcasing her playful nature and ability to bring joy to others - a quality that undoubtedly translates into her therapeutic relationships, especially with younger clients.
As Kelly continues to grow in her profession, she remains dedicated to creating a warm, supportive environment where clients of all ages can explore their challenges and work towards personal growth. Her combination of academic pursuit, practical experience with diverse age groups, and creative personal interests positions her as a promising therapist-in-training, ready to make a positive impact in the lives of those she serves.
