Marbel Locarno

Marbel Freay Locarno is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Director at Mid Florida Counseling, LLC. Locarno works with victims of sexual abuse and trauma, offering psychotherapy to children, adolescents, families, and adults from diverse backgrounds.

Locarno began her career in 1989 with The Division of Youth and Family Services in Paterson, New Jersey, investigating child abuse and neglect. She holds a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and completed the Advanced Certificate Program in Clinical Social Work at New York University in 2001.

In her practice, Locarno uses cognitive behavioral, family systems, and psychodynamic approaches, tailoring techniques to individual needs. She also employs play therapy for younger clients. Locarno is a Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Social Work Interns and conducts adoption home studies. Her bilingual abilities in English and Spanish enhance accessibility for a broader community.
