Maria Caras

Maria Caras, LMHC, is an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist and has been a licensed mental health counselor since October 2017. She provides counseling to adolescents and adults with a focus on grief and loss.

As a solo practitioner based in Staten Island, New York, she offers the Grief Recovery Method in both group and one-on-one formats, in person or online. She holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from St. John's University and an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University.

Her approach blends empathy, structured grief education, and practical tools to support clients processing loss. She emphasizes empowerment and validation and creates a safe space for clients to express and work through their experiences.
