Maria Laquerre

Maria Laquerre, LMFT, RPTS, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She specializes in play-based therapy and creative interventions, including integrating pop culture and superheroes into therapy practices.

Her career has included work in inpatient residential facilities, community-based agencies, and school-based health centers, providing a broad clinical perspective. She has been a clinical supervisor since 2008 and has served as clinical director for three organizations, including her current position at A New Hope Therapy Center.

In 2017, Maria purchased Tafoya and Associates with her husband, rebranding it as A New Hope Therapy Center to expand mental health services in Las Cruces and surrounding areas. She conducts workshops and provides consultation to support professional development and uses a creative, play-focused approach to support clients and fellow clinicians.
