Maria Martinez

Maria Martinez, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Therapy Works. As a daughter of first-generation immigrant parents, she is committed to breaking down the stigma surrounding therapy in the Hispanic and Latino communities and is fluent in Spanish.

She specializes in working with survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, immigration trauma, and generational trauma and supports life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship issues. She uses Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sand Therapy, and Art Therapy.

Maria works with children, adolescents, and adults across life stages. Her compassionate approach aims to normalize clients' reactions and enhance understanding of how personal experiences have impacted emotional well-being.
