As a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), Marissa brings a wealth of experience in supporting youth, adolescents, and young adults through their most challenging moments.

Marissa's journey in mental health began with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015, followed by a Master's in Counseling from Doane University in 2019. This solid educational foundation, combined with her hands-on experience in both residential and outpatient settings, has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs of young people facing mental health challenges.

At the heart of Marissa's practice is a person-centered, strength-based approach that aims to promote healing, resilience, and growth. She specializes in addressing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and mood disorders, grief, trauma, suicidal thoughts, self-harm behaviors, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Her expertise is further enhanced by her training in evidence-based treatments such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Marissa is passionate about creating a safe and empowering space where clients can take steps towards healing. She believes in fostering a therapeutic relationship that is welcoming, authentic, and collaborative, ensuring that each individual feels supported throughout their journey. Her approach is not just about addressing immediate concerns but also about equipping her clients with the tools and resilience to navigate future life transitions and experiences.

When not in the therapy room, Marissa enjoys an active lifestyle, spending time outdoors with her husband and their Beagle, Millie. Her love for walking, biking, and playing pickleball reflects her belief in the importance of physical activity for mental well-being. Marissa's enthusiasm for game nights and exploring new experiences in Omaha showcases her appreciation for connection and community - values she brings into her therapeutic practice.
