Mary-Margaret Barras

Mary-Margaret Barras, LPC/CT, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in trauma-related disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, OCD, and family-related issues. She creates a therapeutic environment grounded in respect and collaboration where clients can explore challenges and build purpose.

She earned a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville (May 2023) after undergraduate study in Lafayette, Louisiana. She worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis technician with children with Autism and counseled high school students, and she is establishing her practice in Canton, Ohio.

She uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor care to each client’s goals. She offers the option to incorporate faith into therapy and emphasizes being fully seen, heard, and accepted.
