Mary Pedersen

Mary Pedersen, LMFT and Director of Central Coast Counseling Center, brings two decades of counseling experience and specializes in helping families recover from addictions and trauma.

She works with couples who are "trauma triggered" by Addictive Family Dynamics and focuses on identifying and addressing approximately 45 Destructive Family Dynamics. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrates guided imagery, meditation, and breathing techniques in trauma work.

Pedersen emphasizes a Healing Community, collaborating with doctors and support services, and attends to psychological overwhelm, the "split self", fight-flight-freeze responses, and inner child needs to help families manage overwhelm and engage in more constructive dialogue.
