She then went on to obtain her Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis, with a specialized emphasis in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Bates' professional experience spans a variety of settings, including private practice, hospital outpatient clinics, intensive outpatient programs, community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and schools. When not in the office, Dr. Bates enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, tending to her numerous houseplants, and trying to keep up with her energetic puppy, Otter. She offers face-to-face, walk-and-talk, and teletherapy services from the Charlottesville North office, providing flexible options for families across Virginia.
