About
Pavani Khera, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist, is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She uses relational psychodynamic therapy and somatic approaches and specializes in immigrants' mental health, women's issues, depression and anxiety, relational difficulties, trauma, life transitions, and grief and loss.
She has worked with diverse clients in the United States and India in community mental health clinics, college counseling centers, high schools, and psychiatric hospitals. Bilingual in English and Hindi, she is an approved Psychology Associate in the District of Columbia (supervised by Andrea Fisher, Psy.D., and Maria Zimmitti, Ph.D.) and is independently licensed in Virginia and under PSYPACT.
Dr. Khera is neurodivergent- and LGBTQ+ affirming and centers culturally humble, empathetic therapeutic relationships to help clients develop more adaptive patterns of relating and navigate transitions and trauma.
