As a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University, Dr. Khera brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to her practice, shaped by her work with diverse clients both in the United States and India.

Dr. Khera's therapeutic methodology is grounded in relational psychodynamic therapy, complemented by the integration of somatic approaches to strengthen the mind-body connection. Her relational approach aims to help clients identify and develop more adaptive patterns of relating to themselves and others. Central to Dr. Khera's practice is the belief that the therapeutic relationship plays an essential role in facilitating the healing process, driving her to build profound and genuine connections with each client.

With a passion for empowering individuals from marginalized backgrounds, Dr. Khera specializes in addressing challenges related to immigrants' mental health, women's issues, depressive and anxiety disorders, relational difficulties and trauma, stage of life transitions, and grief and loss. Her approach across these areas is neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ affirming, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all clients.

Dr. Khera's extensive experience spans various settings, including community mental health clinics, college counseling centers, high schools, and psychiatric hospitals. This diverse background has equipped her with the versatility to work effectively with young and middle-aged adults from all walks of life. As an immigrant herself, Dr. Khera brings a personal understanding to the unique challenges faced by those navigating cultural transitions and identity formation in a new country.

Complementing her professional expertise, Dr. Khera holds a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Christ University, India, and completed her doctoral internship in health service psychology at the University of Virginia Counseling Center. She is bilingual, fluent in both English and Hindi, allowing her to connect with a broader range of clients and understand cultural nuances that may impact mental health.

Currently, Dr. Khera serves as an approved Psychology Associate in the District of Columbia, providing services under the supervision of Andrea Fisher, Psy.D., and Maria Zimmitti, Ph.D. She is also independently licensed in Virginia and under PSYPACT, expanding her ability to serve clients across multiple jurisdictions. Whether through individual or group therapy, Dr. Khera is dedicated to providing culturally humble, empathetic, and effective mental health care to her diverse clientele.
