Rita Romero

Rita Romero, PhD, PSY 14190, is a licensed psychologist and the founder and CEO of San Diego Psychotherapy Associates with over 25 years of clinical experience. She provides psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and couples.

She specializes in the treatment of depression and anxiety, health psychology, addictive disorders, and life transitions, and teaches communication skills clients can use in personal and professional relationships. She is Board Certified as a PTSD Clinician and works with trauma survivors.

Having worked extensively with the Department of Defense, including positions at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and Naval Hospital San Diego, she brings a deep understanding of military culture and the challenges facing service members and their dependents. Clients value her skilled, respectful, compassionate, and effective approach, and she tailors evidence-based care to each client’s needs.
