Ryan McNamara

Ryan McNamara, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He earned a BA in philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, an MA in humanities from the University of Dallas, and an MSW from the University of Texas at Arlington.

He specializes in spiritual abuse and religious trauma, PTSD, LGBTQ+ issues, substance misuse and addictions, grief, and self-esteem, and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques in his work.

His experience includes teaching middle and high school and providing individual and group psychotherapy in an outpatient substance misuse and behavioral health non-profit agency, along with clinical supervision and program coordination. He is direct yet flexible, trauma-informed, collaborative, and empathic, with a structured style that emphasizes between-session work and client-centered goals.
