About
Sakira Colvin is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with a blend of military experience and mental health expertise. Colvin works with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and relational conflict, serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and multicultural and LGBTQ+ populations.
Colvin holds a Bachelor of Science in English from the United States Air Force Academy and a Masters of Business from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy at Brandman University/UMass Global in California. Her 10 years of service as an Air Force officer, including deployment to Iraq, inform her understanding of veterans' challenges.
Her therapeutic approach incorporates person centered therapy, narrative therapy, play therapy, and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Clients can expect a welcoming, non judgmental environment where thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are explored in collaboration. Colvin supports clients in enhancing resilience and well-being.
