Sarah King
MSW, LICSW • Clinical Social Worker
About
With a warm, authentic presence and a touch of humor, Sarah King brings over a decade of experience to her work as a clinical social worker. Specializing in individual psychotherapy for adults and college-aged students, Sarah creates a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore life's challenges and vulnerabilities.
Sarah's therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in the power of relationships. She believes that both primary attachments and current connections play a crucial role in shaping our lives and well-being. Drawing from a diverse toolkit of theoretical frameworks, including psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, Buddhist Psychology, and Internal Family Systems, Sarah tailors her approach to each client's unique needs.
With twelve years of practice under her belt, Sarah has honed her expertise in addressing a wide range of concerns. She particularly enjoys working with clients on issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-worth and self-compassion, trauma, relational concerns, identity exploration, and life transitions. Sarah's sensitive nature allows her to tune in closely with her clients, fostering an environment where they can feel truly "seen" and understood – a factor she believes is essential for healing and growth.
As a clinical social worker, Sarah is committed to honoring diversity and understanding each person within the context of their environment. She approaches therapy with the fundamental belief that each client is the expert in their own life. This client-centered philosophy, combined with her professional expertise, creates a collaborative therapeutic process that empowers individuals to tap into their inherent strengths and wisdom.
Outside of her professional life, Sarah finds joy in the simple pleasures of family time, friendships, and creative pursuits. She relishes moments spent with her husband and young daughter, enjoys walks with friends, and expresses herself through dance and music. Her love for hands-on creativity extends to knitting and embroidery, and she even dabbles in urban fruit gardening – a testament to her nurturing nature both in and out of the office.
