Her mission extends beyond individual care, encompassing a dedication to training BIPOC clinicians to become pillars of support within their own communities.

Sherene's journey in mental health spans over 15 years, during which she has cultivated a diverse range of experiences supporting vulnerable populations. Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from St. John's University and a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercy University. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in both New York and New Jersey, and a National Certified Counselor, Sherene brings a wealth of knowledge and credentials to her practice.

In her private practice, Sherene specializes in providing individual counseling to adults navigating the complexities of everyday life. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADD, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, stress, family conflicts, and grief. Sherene's therapeutic approach is both diverse and tailored, utilizing techniques such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, and Positive Psychology.

Sherene's professional experience is as varied as it is impactful. Her tenure at St. Barnabas Hospital's Behavioral Health System in the Bronx, NYC, saw her providing individual counseling for adults grappling with substance use issues and group counseling for women navigating trauma. Her volunteer work with the Westchester Community Opportunity Program in Westchester County, NY, allowed her to offer crisis intervention, advocacy, and emotional support to clients reporting sexual assault. Additionally, her role as a community-based service provider with NYC's Bridges to Health Program involved working closely with children in foster care, their families, and school staff to address each child's mental health needs while minimizing disruptions to their education.
