Stephanie Brookins

Stephanie Brookins, MS, NCC, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Columbus, Georgia. She focuses on treating Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including cases complicated by co-occurring traumatic brain injury and chronic pain, and is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant In Training.

She has nearly two decades of service to the Columbus/Ft. Benning mental health community and has worked extensively with military service members, families, and retirees. Her practice also includes work with children, adolescents, and families to strengthen cohesiveness and coping in serious mental illness.

Stephanie uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, and incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy to tailor care to each client’s needs. As a Tricare Certified Mental Health Counselor, she emphasizes helping clients make meaning, restore stability, and manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, and chronic stress.
