Suparna Basu

Suparna Basu, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, postpartum depression, and seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Born in Delhi, India, she earned her medical degree and training from the Institute of Medicine in Kathmandu, Nepal and was awarded a scholarship from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). She completed a psychiatric residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital.

Dr. Basu uses a collaborative approach blending evidence-based medicine and deep patient understanding, creating a calm, nonjudgmental environment rooted in humanistic principles and emphasizing human connection. She values cultural competence and respects diversity across gender, race, age, ethnicity, education, country of origin, and language.
