Susan Terveen

Susan Terveen is a Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist–Supervisor based in her hometown of Spearfish, South Dakota. After earning her teaching degree from the University of Sioux Falls, she raised five sons before pursuing her graduate degree in professional counseling from South Dakota State University. Her life experience, combined with her formal training, gives her a unique perspective and deep empathy in her work with individuals, couples, and families.

Susan integrates traditional talk therapy with Brainspotting, sand tray, and therapeutic play to meet clients where they are and address their goals for healing. Her areas of expertise include addiction, anxiety, ADHD, depression, eating disorders, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, marital and couples therapy, sexual abuse, conflict resolution, and spiritual issues.
