Sylvia's academic journey began at the University of Texas at Brownsville, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology. Her pursuit of knowledge continued with a Master's in Education Degree in Community Counseling and Guidance from the CACREP accredited program at the same institution. During her graduate studies, Sylvia's commitment to the counseling profession was recognized with the Dr. Charles R. Comeaux Distinguished Student Recognition Award for Outstanding Clinical Skills.
As the owner, Clinical Director, and Primary Therapist at Priority Counseling, Sylvia offers a comprehensive range of services including individual, group, and family counseling. Her expertise spans across various mental health concerns, with a primary focus on adolescents and adults. Sylvia's approach to therapy is integrative and eclectic, drawing from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic modalities.
