Lorenzi's journey into therapy was profoundly influenced by her personal experiences. Following the premature birth of her youngest child and a kidney transplant, she faced deep depression. This led her to pursue two Master's degrees in counseling and a certification in sex therapy, equipping her to address a wide range of issues in couples therapy.

Her therapeutic approach is both professional and personal, informed by her life as a transplant recipient, mother, and grandmother.
