Yossi Shafer

Yossi Shafer, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Walden University. He specializes in adolescent and adult mental health, with focused work in clinical depression, anxiety, and trauma.

He uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and incorporates psychodynamic treatment to tailor interventions to each client’s needs. His approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and flexibility.

Dr. Shafer completed an internship at the Georgian Court University Counseling Center and served five years as director of integrated behavioral health care services at the Center for Health Education, Medicine, and Dentistry (CHEMED). He founded Empower Health Center, conducts research at Rutgers University, and trains doctoral students, emphasizing integrated care and improved access to services.
