Leonard earned his Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College School of Social Work. He is a licensed independent clinical social worker in Rhode Island. His extensive experience includes work in psychiatric hospitals, partial hospital programs, substance use disorder programs, medical hospital psychiatry teams, and emergency services crisis intervention.

Leonard employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques.
