Ellen Cantwell

Ellen Cantwell, MS, LPCA, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with over five years of experience in school-based mental health, specializing in working with children, adolescents, and families. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and she incorporates creative elements into therapy when appropriate.

Trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ellen has crisis response training and addresses anxiety, depression, trauma, crises, self-harm and suicidal ideation, ADHD, oppositional/defiant behavior, grief and loss, self-esteem challenges, family separation, and relationship difficulties.

Her practice is humanistic and strengths-based; she strives to create an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and culturally mindful environment and works collaboratively with clients to develop coping skills and challenge unhelpful beliefs.
