As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Evelyn specializes in helping individuals and couples who feel alone in their relationships rediscover the keys to lifetime love and meaningful connections.
Evelyn's approach is deeply rooted in relational therapy, with a particular focus on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals. Her warm, accepting, and non-judgmental style creates a safe space for clients to explore their emotional needs and relationship dynamics. As a relational therapist, Evelyn actively engages in the therapeutic process, offering feedback and perspectives that facilitate new understandings, forgiveness, and hope for the future.
With a unique background that spans two careers, Evelyn brings a wealth of experience to her practice. She began her professional journey as a Physical Therapist, graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 1989 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. Later in life, she pursued her passion for helping others in a different capacity, earning her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in 2016, graduating with Highest Distinction.
Evelyn's therapeutic approach is grounded in solid research and extensive training. She is in the process of certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), widely recognized as the most evidence-based form of therapy for couples. This training allows her to help clients unearth patterns of interactions that may be holding them back from experiencing fulfilling and meaningful relationships.
While Evelyn's practice is shaped by her Christian faith, she welcomes clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. She provides a judgment-free zone for exploring personal growth and change, considering it a sacred privilege to serve in this role regardless of her clients' worldviews. Her goal is to help people experience the type of love and connection that leads to feeling safe, secure, and happy in their relationships.
As a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), Evelyn stays at the forefront of developments in her field. Her commitment to ongoing education and professional development ensures that her clients receive the most current and effective therapeutic interventions.
