About
With a unique blend of life experiences and professional expertise, Jackie Miller, LPC, brings a wealth of understanding to her counseling practice. Her journey as a therapist began after a transformative 26-year career as a Fire Sergeant and EMT, coupled with 12 years of service in the Army Reserves. These experiences have given Jackie a profound insight into the complexities of human resilience, especially in the face of trauma, loss, and life-altering events.
Jackie's academic journey led her to Columbus State University, where she earned a baccalaureate degree in Communications. Later, driven by a passion to help others, she pursued a master's degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. Her internship at "The Chaplin and Family Counseling Center" marked a turning point, deepening her self-awareness and shaping her approach to counseling.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Jackie specializes in a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, women's issues, anger management, ADHD, family conflicts, self-esteem, and trauma. Her diverse clientele spans from children as young as 6 to adults, including veterans and members of the LGBT community. This broad spectrum of experience allows her to tailor her approach to each individual's unique needs and circumstances.
Jackie's therapeutic methodology is grounded in evidence-based psychological treatments, honed during her training at Fort Benning and further refined through post-graduate work at the Bradley Center, a local Behavioral Health Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. She emphasizes a goal-oriented approach, focusing on empowering clients to take control of their challenges and achieve optimal outcomes.
With a strong belief in the power of hope and determination, Jackie Miller offers a compassionate, understanding space for clients to explore their feelings and work through life's challenges.
