With a unique multicultural background that spans continents, Julie Griffin brings a wealth of life experience and professional expertise to her counseling practice at Carolina Counseling Partners. Growing up in Thailand and Sri Lanka, and spending a significant portion of her adult life in Jakarta, Indonesia, Julie has developed a keen understanding of diverse populations and the intricacies of interpersonal relationships across cultures.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), and National Certified Counselor (NCC), Julie's approach to therapy is both versatile and client-centered. She employs a range of modalities tailored to each client's needs, including Mindfulness Training, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This integrative approach allows her to address a wide spectrum of mental health concerns effectively.
Julie's practice focuses on working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. She specializes in treating trauma, family and parenting issues, depression, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, life transitions, ADHD, and marital and premarital counseling. Her extensive experience and training equip her to handle complex cases with sensitivity and skill.
Beyond her clinical work, Julie is passionate about education and advocacy. She is available to speak on various topics, including parenting in different life stages, the intersection of church and mental illness, building healthy families, human trafficking advocacy, health and wellness, and trauma recovery. With over 30 years of marriage, four daughters, four sons-in-law, and seven grandchildren, Julie brings a personal understanding of family dynamics to her professional work. Her love for reading, cooking, playing tennis, and traveling not only enriches her life but also informs her therapeutic approach, emphasizing the importance of balance and personal fulfillment. As a founding partner of Carolina Counseling Partners, Julie Griffin offers a unique blend of professional expertise, multicultural insight, and genuine compassion, dedicated to helping clients discover their passions and navigate life's challenges.
