Kathy Florence

Kathy Florence, MS, LMFTA, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with over two decades of dedicated experience in the mental health field. She specializes in the treatment of adults with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders and also provides services to children, teens, and families.

She earned her Bachelor's degree from Troy University and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University. Her training includes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); she has provided counseling and skill-building services, case management, psycho-educational groups, and crisis intervention.

Kathy focuses on trauma, bereavement, anxiety, depression, and stress management, approaching care from a systemic perspective that considers family and social contexts. At Luminous Counseling she emphasizes practical skill-building and a supportive therapeutic environment for clients navigating complex or persistent challenges.
