As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kelsey specializes in helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of relationships, LGBTQIA+ issues, motherhood and parenting, body image, and women's issues. Her primary goal in therapy is to earn her clients' trust, tailoring her approach to each individual's unique patterns and strengths.
Kelsey's passion lies in helping clients restore connection and repair their most important relationships, including the relationship with themselves. She believes that all people need love and connection, and works to help clients break free from negative cycles that may be holding them back. Through her empathetic and passionate approach, Kelsey becomes a champion for her clients, supporting them in their personal growth and life journey.
With a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach, Kelsey assists clients in healing internal wounds by processing past experiences and traumas. She also helps clients navigate present challenges, integrating new experiences into their lives. Kelsey's therapeutic toolkit includes empirically supported models of therapy, and she continually expands her knowledge through regular training and staying current with the latest research.
Kelsey's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama, and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee, Arizona, and North Carolina, offering both telehealth and in-person sessions in East Nashville. Her post-graduate education includes training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and EMDR therapy.
In her practice, Kelsey creates a unique process for each client, integrating various approaches as she learns about their individual needs and strengths. She believes in the power of love, compassion, and forgiveness, and is dedicated to helping her clients develop the strength and sense of worthiness to ask for connection and accept it in return. Whether working with individuals or couples, Kelsey's ultimate aim is to facilitate deeper, more vulnerable connections and guide her clients towards the relationships they desire.
