Leia Charnin

Dr. Leia Charnin is a licensed psychologist known for her multifaceted career in clinical practice, research, and advocacy. Charnin works with teenagers and adults facing anxiety, trauma, stress management, and diversity issues. She offers support for LGBTQIA+ concerns and transitions.

Charnin earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, focusing on implicit race bias and ethnocultural empathy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her training includes a post-doctoral fellowship at VA Boston Healthcare System and a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Delaware.

Charnin employs modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Clients can expect a structured and inclusive approach to therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and live music, bringing a relatable presence to her practice.
