About

Maggie Dunleavy is a therapist who creates a safe and affirming therapeutic environment for adults and couples across all life stages. Dunleavy works with queer and trans clients, supporting people in their journey of self-discovery and growth.

Dunleavy earned their Master's degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, with a specialization in Gender and Sexuality. This training enhances their ability to help clients explore issues of gender identity, sex and sexuality, as well as broader concerns such as loss and grief, depression, anxiety, and relationship dynamics.

Their practice is trauma informed and eclectic, blending psychodynamic, relational cultural, internal family systems, and acceptance and commitment therapies. Incorporating somatic-focused mindfulness techniques, Dunleavy guides clients in exploring the connection between emotions and bodily sensations. Clients can expect a culturally competent and socially conscious practice.
