Maggie's practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, eclectic style that draws from various therapeutic modalities. They skillfully blend elements of psychodynamic practice, relational cultural therapy, internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy. This diverse toolkit allows Maggie to tailor their approach to each client's unique needs and experiences.

A distinguishing feature of Maggie's practice is their incorporation of somatic-focused mindfulness techniques. Drawing from their background in performing arts and somatic movement, Maggie helps clients explore the connection between emotions and bodily sensations, fostering a deeper understanding of the mind-body relationship.

Maggie's therapeutic approach is deeply informed by critical race theory, queer theory, and feminist theory. They bring an acute awareness of the impact of marginalization and systemic oppression on mental health, ensuring a culturally competent and socially conscious practice. As a white therapist, Maggie is committed to ongoing cultural humility and anti-racist practice in their work with clients from all backgrounds.

Maggie earned their Master's degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, where they completed a Field of Specialization in Gender and Sexuality. This specialized training enhances their ability to support clients in exploring and healing around issues of gender identity, sex and sexuality, as well as broader concerns such as loss and grief, depression, anxiety, relationship dynamics, and self-acceptance.
