Marcia's professional path is marked by a series of roles that have shaped her expertise and approach to mental health care. From her early days as a school nurse, where she formed lasting friendships, to her time in a nursing home, and later in a hospital's geriatric psychiatry unit, each experience has contributed to her comprehensive understanding of patient care. It was in the hospital setting where Marcia discovered her passion for individualized patient interaction, a cornerstone of her current practice.
Advancing her education alongside her career, Marcia achieved her RN license from Baptist Health in 1998, further specializing in psychiatric nursing. Her commitment to the field led her to pursue and obtain her MNSC degree as a Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from UAMS in 2013. Since then, Marcia has primarily focused on community mental health, accumulating considerable experience in treating a wide range of conditions including PTSD, Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and sleeping disorders.
While Marcia is equipped to work with patients of all ages, she has developed a particular interest and expertise in adult and geriatric care. Her approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, warmth, and support, with a strong emphasis on empowering patients to find their own solutions.
