Maria Paredes

Maria Adele Paredes is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist. She works with people on issues related to disordered eating, infertility, pregnancy loss, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. Paredes provides a holistic approach to wellness.

Paredes holds a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo, a Master's degree in School Counseling, and a Doctoral degree in Counseling & Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. With over two decades of experience, she has received specialized training in Animal-Assisted Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

Employing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, Narrative, and Relational Cultural Therapy, Paredes emphasizes authentic connections for resilience and growth. Her practice includes Brainspotting and EMDR for trauma processing. Clients can expect a weight-inclusive, fat-positive environment encouraging intuitive eating and self-acceptance.
