About
Meji Singh, Ph.D., is Founding President and Chief Psychologist of The Hume Center. With over half a century of dedication to community mental health, he has shaped the organization with a focus on underserved communities.
He earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University in 1965 and completed a year of seminars with Gerald Caplan, M.D., at Harvard School of Public Health. His career includes work in state hospitals for the mentally ill and community mental health programs, and he has been involved in developing award-winning community mental health programs.
At The Hume Center he emphasizes culturally sensitive behavioral health services, professional training, and clinical research, viewing psychological pain and symptoms as signals for growth. His approach centers on strengthening community resources and continuous, data-based quality assurance.
