About
Mia Martinson is a mental health professional who helps clients improve their relationships with themselves and the world around them. Martinson works with clients over the age of 15, focusing on anxiety disorders such as OCD and agoraphobia, depressive disorders, and eating disorders.
Martinson's journey began during her practicum at the University of Mississippi's Clinic for Outreach and Personal Enrichment, where she earned her Master's in Counselor Education. She further developed her skills at the Eating Recovery Center in Greenville, South Carolina, receiving specific training in Exposure and Response Prevention for Eating Disorders in 2019. In 2022, she completed the Exposure and Ritual Prevention for OCD Workshop at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Treatment and Study of Anxiety.
Using evidence-based practices such as ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT skills, Martinson tailors her approach to each client's goals. Her sessions emphasize the importance of active participation, encouraging clients to practice skills outside of therapy.
