Mike Mincy

With a compassionate approach and a toolkit of evidence-based techniques, Mike Mincy, MSW, LCSW, has been guiding individuals and families through life's challenges for over seven years. As a licensed clinical social worker, Mike specializes in addressing a wide range of issues that affect older teens, adults, couples, and families.

Mike's expertise lies in helping clients navigate complex emotional terrain, including anxiety, trauma, and depression. He understands that these issues often intertwine with life transitions and relational difficulties, which is why he also focuses on behavioral issues, divorce adjustment, family conflict, and peer-related problems. His holistic approach recognizes that grief and parenting challenges can significantly impact one's mental health and overall well-being.

In his practice, Mike employs a variety of therapeutic modalities to best serve his clients' needs. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and integrative family systems theory, along with other solution-based practices. This diverse skill set allows him to tailor his approach to each client's unique situation and goals.

Mike received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Florida State University, providing him with a strong foundation in social work principles and practices. He joined Tallahassee Counseling Center in 2018, bringing his wealth of experience and dedication to the team.

When he's not in the office, Mike enjoys a range of activities that keep him grounded and energized. He's an avid fisherman, a dedicated runner, and a self-proclaimed Star Wars fanatic. Mike also values spending quality time with his family, diving into a good book, or unwinding with video games. These personal interests not only contribute to his work-life balance but also inform his relatable and down-to-earth therapeutic style.
