About
With a passion for guiding individuals and couples towards freedom, wholeness, and restoration, Tara Havely, LCSW, has been a beacon of hope in the field of mental health since 2008. Her journey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is marked by a unique integration of clinical expertise and faith-based understanding, offering a comprehensive approach to healing and personal growth.
Tara's professional path began in diverse clinical settings, including dual diagnosis intensive outpatient programs, acute inpatient care, and community mental health. These experiences laid a robust foundation for her practice, equipping her with the skills to address a wide range of mental health challenges. However, it was in 2013 that Tara's practice took a distinctive turn, as she began integrating her clinical knowledge with her faith in church settings. This evolution in her approach culminated in her roles as Director of Care and Counsel at Providence Church and later as Associate Pastor at Fellowship Church in the Biblical Life Counseling Center.
At the heart of Tara's practice is a deep-seated belief in the power of understanding both the human heart and God's love to heal and restore individuals internally and relationally. She employs a diverse toolkit of therapeutic approaches, including Biblical Counseling, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. This eclectic methodology allows her to tailor her approach to each client's unique needs and circumstances.
Tara's academic background includes a BS from Carson Newman College (1993) and an MSSW from the University of Tennessee (2008). She is also Prepare and Enrich Certified, further enhancing her ability to work effectively with couples. Her services encompass individual counseling, couples counseling, and parent coaching, reflecting her versatility as a therapist.
Beyond her professional life, Tara's personal experiences as a wife of 30 years and mother of three add depth to her understanding of family dynamics and life transitions. Residing in West Knoxville, she balances her professional commitments with personal interests, enjoying coffee with friends and exploring new DIY projects. This blend of professional expertise and personal warmth creates a welcoming and effective therapeutic environment for those seeking her guidance on their journey to emotional and relational well-being.
